Winners Pool Rules Please remember that you may pick a team only once during the regular season. So if you pick the Broncos the first week of the season, the next time you may pick them is when the playoffs begin. During the playoffs you may pick any team you want as often as you want. The Winners Pool is played by examining the NFL games for the week and picking one team you think will win. If you pick a winning team, you automatically advance to the next week. You then choose a winning team from the games that will be played that week. The object is to be the last person who picks a winning team or who can advance to the next week through a buy-back. |
| If you pick a losing team, you may buy back
into the pool for $5.00. If you pick a losing team again, you may buy
back into the pool one more time for another $5.00. The cost for an entry is $20.00 At most the game will cost you $30.00 (if you invest in the two buy-backs.) The pick-week starts on Thursday and ends on Monday. You select one NFL team you think will win from the games played Thursday through Monday. You must e-mail or fax your pick to us by noon on Thursday (or sometimes Wednesday). If you neglect to notify us, you will be given the Broncos. (If it is a bye-week for the Broncos or if you have chosen the Broncos before, that will be a losing pick for you.)
|
| If no person can advance to the
next week, then those individuals who were left divide the money evenly.
For example, if there are three people left at week eight and those three
people pick losers, then they divide the pool evenly among themselves.
However, if any of them can still buy back into the pool, then they may
advance to the next week. This pool starts with the season opening week (no pre-season games) and can last until the Super Bowl is played. During the playoffs, the 15% Rule Status may be in effect. Click here to for details about the 15% Rule Status. We will provide a list of the games being played each week and a list of who picked which team for the week. Take me to an example of the pick list. The amount of the pool will not be determined until all entries are received and all buy-backs are made. Tie game procedures: The following is a scenario of what happens if pool participants pick a game that ends in a tie. |
